Introduction

A little while after I bought my first medium format camera from Mamiya (the M645 1000 S), I found out that at one point Mamiya also made 35 mm cameras, a fact which I had not known before.  Since I liked the solidness and feel of my M645 so much, I also was instantly interested in their 35 mm cameras.

The first Mamiya 35 mm camera I bought was a broken ZE-2 which I got for my then 2 1/2 year old son.  He already showed a lot of interest in cameras, trying to be like his father.  From that day on, he also had a "Mamiya" just like his Dad, and he was very proud of it.

Some time later, I won an auction on eBay for a black Mamiya NC 1000 S camera with a couple of lenses and other accessories.  This camera felt very solid to me, and I also liked its shutter priority mode, which was quite unique for older manual SLR's back then.  The lenses also looked and felt a lot like their bigger M645 counterparts.

In parallel to building my Mamiya NC series collection, I also established a quite extensive collection of Mamiya Z series cameras and lenses.  In the meantime, I decided to sell my M645 and also all Z series cameras and to concentrate only on collecting the NC series.  This is, what this website is about, to share information and shed some light on these wonderful little cameras Mamiya unfortunately stopped producing in the early 80´s.
