This is one of the most famous Carl Zeiss lens designs, renown for its excellent optical performance. I have never actually tested this lens myself, so this is only based on what I found out from other sources.
Unfortunately, unlike most other 135 mm lenses, this lens only has a maximum aperture of f/3.5 instead of f/2.8.
The minimum focusing distnace of only 1.0 meters is one of the main advantages of this lens, since this allows very tight head shots even of children without the use of an extension tube. |
