This fisheye lens is quite difficult to find, it only shows up on eBay maybe once every year, and you might have to pay US$200 for it. I got my sample from Ron Herron who agreed to trade it against the same lens in the CS mount for the Mamiya NC series (I had a duplicate of the CS version, and both cost me over US$200, but I preferred having the SX version also).
The lens design is pretty much identical to the CS version with some minor cosmetic differences (texture of rubber on focussing ring, knurling of aperture ring, and, of course, no auto-aperture setting).
I haven´t tried out this lens yet, but I assume it gives similar results to the CS version (don´t expect any wonders regarding corner sharpness with such an extreme wide-angle lens). |
