This is a very compact medium telephoto zoom lens with a constant aperture of f/3.8. It is a push-type zoom lens which has its maximum telephoto setting when the lens is not extended. This design reminds me a lot of the Mamiya-Sekor Zoom E 70-150 1:3.8 (this rare Mamiya zoom lens is renown for its excellent optical performance). I haven´t had a chance to test this Tokina zoom lens yet.
The lens has a one-touch zoom/focus control system for easy and quick operation. There is also a close focus feature and an A/M-switch for the aperture.
