This is the model II version of this lens with a new optical design, lighter than its predecessor (which has 7 elements in 6 groups, a filter diameter of 58 mm and a weight of 260 g). These Pentax lenses are renown for their excellent craftmanship.
There is a special rectangular clip-on lens hood which comes in its own leather case. This lens hood works very effectively. Optically, the lens is also really excellent, and it has almost no distortion (less than 0.5%).
The latest samples of this lens were supplied with the new seven-layer multicoating but without light meter coupling pins for full aperture light metering. |
